Golf Nerd Leagues (“GNL,” “we,” “us”) is a software platform that helps friends run fantasy golf leagues. We provide tools for drafting, picking, scoring, and tracking — but we are not a fantasy sports operator and we do not handle entry fees, prizes, or any money exchanged between players. Read on for the details.
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of golfnerdleagues.com and the services we offer there (the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
GNL offers two kinds of fantasy golf experiences:
GNerds are GNL’s internal progression currency. You earn GNerds by playing — making the cut, top finishes, wins, weekly winners, season-end bonuses, and so on. Your subscription tier multiplies what you earn (1× for free accounts, 2× for Sub, 3× for Premium). GNerds drive your placement on our leaderboards, your skill profile, and tier-based perks within the Service.
GNerds have no monetary value. They are not currency, are not redeemable for cash, prizes, or anything of value outside the Service, and cannot be transferred between accounts. Where private leagues display GNerds alongside cash prize pools, the GNerds figure is a separate, platform-internal score; the cash arrangement stays between the commissioner and the league members and does not flow through GNL.
You may pay GNL a subscription (Sub or Premium) or a one-time service fee for entry to a paid league. Subscription fees recur on the cadence shown at checkout (monthly or annually) and renew automatically until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your account page; cancellation stops future renewals but does not refund the current period — your tier benefits remain active through the end of the period you already paid for. Refund eligibility for service fees and subscriptions is described in Section 7.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you are 18 or older and capable of entering into a binding contract.
You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity that happens under your account. If you think someone else is using your account, please email us at support@golfnerdleagues.com.
You agree not to:
We reserve the right to remove content, suspend accounts, or terminate access for users who violate these Terms.
You own anything you contribute to the Service — team names, league names, league configurations, comments. By using the Service, you grant GNL a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, and process your content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service. We don’t claim ownership of your content and we don’t use it to advertise or sell anything.
You’re responsible for the accuracy and legality of the content you submit. Don’t submit anything you don’t have the right to share.
For private leagues run on GNL: we don’t handle entry fees, prizes, or money between league members. If your league uses real money, that arrangement is between you and your fellow members — not us. We don’t collect it, hold it, transfer it, or refund it. Talk to your commissioner about their refund and dispute process.
For public leagues and subscriptions: GNL collects the service fee directly. Public Draft seats, Public Season entries, Public One & Done entries, and Sub / Premium subscriptions are billed by GNL through our payment processor. These fees cover access to the Service and the public games we operate; they are not stakes in a cash prize pool. Public-game prizes are paid in GNerds and public-leaderboard recognition (see Section 2). Refund eligibility for these fees is described in Section 7.
We’ll notify you in advance of any fee changes that affect a future subscription renewal.
This section applies to the fees you pay GNL directly — service fees for league access and recurring subscriptions. Money exchanged between league members in private leagues (entry fees, prize payouts, side bets) is between you and your fellow members; GNL does not handle, hold, or refund those amounts (see Section 6).
Access to a Golf Nerd Leagues league requires a completed payment of the GNL service fee for that league — either a paid Checkout, a redeemed promotion code that brings the fee to $0, or coverage by a commissioner pre-pay. Until payment is recorded, you cannot see the league, draft, make picks, or take any other in-league action.
You may request a refund of your GNL service fee if both of the following are true:
Refunds are full or nothing. We do not issue partial or prorated refunds — if you qualify under the rules above, you get the full service fee back.
Email support@golfnerdleagues.com from the address on your GNL account. Include the league name (and team name, if relevant), the approximate date and amount of your payment, and a brief reason. We aim to respond within two business days. Approved refunds typically appear on the original payment method within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank.
We refund without you having to ask in two cases:
If you redeemed a promo code that brought your service fee to $0, there is nothing to refund — you weren’t charged anything in the first place.
If you successfully receive a refund of your service fee, the league member seat associated with that payment becomes unpaid and your league access is suspended immediately. You have 48 hours from the time the refund is processed to either:
If neither happens within 48 hours, your league member record is automatically removed. You may rejoin the league by re-using the invite link and completing payment, provided the league has not yet locked (Season: draft has not started; Draft: draft has not started; One & Done: the next tournament you would be eligible to pick has not yet teed off).
Removal returns any golfers your team had drafted (Season Long, Draft) to the available pool for the league’s remaining members or for a replacement member who joins after you. Standings and tournament earnings tied to your removed seat are not retained or transferred.
The commissioner is notified by email when a member is removed for non-payment. The removed member is also notified by email at the time of removal.
Sub and Premium subscriptions are cancel-anytime: you may turn off auto-renewal from your account page at any moment, and your tier benefits remain active through the end of the period you already paid for. We do not issue prorated refunds for unused time on a current subscription period. If you believe you were charged in error (for example, a renewal you intended to cancel that we missed), email support@golfnerdleagues.com and we will sort it out case-by-case.
A league commissioner may refund their own service fee or a commissioner pre-pay charge only before the league locks (draft has not started; first scoring tournament has not begun). A pre-lock commissioner refund cancels the league entirely and all members are notified. After the league locks, commissioner refunds are not available self-service — email support@golfnerdleagues.com and we will work with you on a case-by-case basis.
The Service displays PGA Tour tournament results, schedules, and player names sourced from public statistical data (primarily Data Golf). GNL is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the PGA Tour, the PGA of America, the R&A, the USGA, the European Tour, or any individual player. Player names appear for the purpose of identification in fantasy contests, a use long recognized as non-infringing in the United States.
We do our best to keep tournament data accurate and timely but we can’t guarantee it. Scoring may be delayed or corrected after the fact when the underlying data source updates. If you spot an error, let us know.
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, GNL disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that all data will be accurate, complete, or timely. We don’t guarantee any particular outcome of your league or fantasy contest.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GNL and its officers, employees, and contractors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Service. This includes lost profits, lost data, and any losses related to entry fees, prize money, or other arrangements between you and other league members — none of which GNL handles or is a party to.
Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid GNL in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) one hundred dollars ($100).
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless GNL from any claim, damage, or expense (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of (a) your use of the Service, (b) your breach of these Terms, (c) any pool or contest you run with your league members, or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.
You may stop using the Service or delete your account at any time by emailing us at support@golfnerdleagues.com. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for users who violate these Terms or who pose a risk to the Service or other users.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law, and dispute resolution) will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The arbitration will take place in Massachusetts (or remotely if both parties agree). Each party will bear its own arbitration costs except where the rules require otherwise.
You and GNL agree to bring claims only in your or its individual capacity, and not as a plaintiff or class member in any class or representative proceeding. If this class-action waiver is found unenforceable, the remainder of this section will apply.
Notwithstanding the above, either party may bring a small claims case in a Massachusetts court of competent jurisdiction.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top and, for material changes, notify users by email or through the Service before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
