Overview
One & Done is the strategy-heavy format for golfers who love to study the field. No draft, no roster — just pick one PGA Tour pro each week. Once you use a golfer, he's gone for the rest of the season. Your picks accumulate official tournament earnings all year.
It's deceptively simple but deeply strategic. Do you burn Scottie Scheffler on a weak-field event for easy earnings, or save him for Augusta? Every decision matters, and there's no undoing a pick once the tournament starts.
How It Works
Join a League
No draft needed — just join a One & Done league with an invite code. Everyone starts equal with the same pool of PGA Tour pros to choose from. Unlimited league size.
Pick One Golfer Each Week
Before each tournament, select one golfer to represent you. Lock in your pick before Round 1 tees off. Choose wisely — course fit, form, and field strength all matter. You can also designate an alternate that auto-subs in if your primary doesn't tee off.
No Repeats All Season
Once you use a golfer, they're gone for the rest of the season. Burn Scottie at a weak-field event and you can't use him at Augusta. Strategy is everything.
Highest Earnings Wins
Your picks accumulate official tournament earnings all season. At year's end, the player with the highest total earnings wins the league. Every tournament matters.
How It Looks

Rules
One Pick Per Week
Select one PGA Tour pro before each tournament's first-round tee time. Your pick's official tournament earnings are added to your season total.
Optional Alternate
Alongside your primary pick you can designate an alternate. If your primary doesn't tee off (DNS) or withdraws before completing Round 1, the alternate auto-substitutes in for the week. Once your primary tees off, the alternate is set aside for a later week.
No Repeats Once “Used Up”
A golfer is used up — and unavailable for the rest of the season — once they complete Round 1 under your pick. If your primary doesn't tee off and the alternate subs in, the alternate is the one used up; your primary stays available for a future week.
Disqualifications are an exception: a DQ at any point uses up the primary, regardless of when it happens. This prevents using a DQ as a strategic re-roll.
Missed Picks
If you don't submit a pick before the lock, you earn $0 for the week — but no golfer is used up. Your full pool of available golfers stays intact for future weeks.
Field Eligibility
You can only pick golfers in the committed field at lock time. If a golfer in the field withdraws before lock, anyone who picked them gets an email so they can re-pick before the deadline.
Cancelled or Shortened Tournaments
If a tournament is fully cancelled, picks roll back as if the week never happened — no scoring, no usage. If a tournament is shortened but declared official by the Tour (typically 54 holes), it counts normally — earnings are awarded and golfers are used up per the standard rule.
Season Window
One & Done covers the PGA Tour calendar from the January season opener through the Tour Championship. Some events on the schedule are excluded from OAD — see your in-app league schedule for the eligible weeks.
Tiebreakers
If two or more members are tied on total earnings at season's end, ties break in this order:
- Most wins picked (1st-place finishes)
- Most top-10 finishes picked
- Highest single-week earnings (best individual pick of the year)
- Head-to-head — more weeks where one member's pick out-earned the other's
If all four are still equal, the tied members split the relevant bonus pots evenly.
Unlimited League Size
One & Done leagues have no cap on members. The more, the merrier — and the more competitive.
FAQ
Do I need to draft?
No. One & Done has no draft. You pick one golfer each week from the full PGA Tour field.
Can multiple people in my league pick the same golfer?
Yes — there's no exclusivity. Multiple members can pick the same golfer in the same week. The constraint is that you can't reuse a golfer you've already used up.
What happens if my pick withdraws before teeing off?
If you set an alternate, the alternate auto-substitutes in for the week — and the alternate becomes your used-up golfer. Your primary stays available for a future week. If you didn't set an alternate, you earn $0 for the week and your primary stays available.
What if my golfer misses the cut?
You earn whatever official earnings they receive (often $0 for a missed cut). Because they completed Round 1, the golfer is used up for the season. Choose carefully.
Why is a Disqualification different from a Withdrawal?
A pre-Round-1 withdrawal is treated as “didn't tee off,” so your alternate (if set) takes over and your primary stays available. A disqualification is different: the primary is always used up, even if it happens before Round 1. This rule exists to prevent using a DQ as a strategic do-over.
When is the pick deadline?
Picks lock at the first tee time of Round 1 (typically Thursday morning). You'll see the deadline on the pick screen.
What if a tournament is cancelled or weather-shortened?
If the Tour fully cancels the event, picks roll back as if the week never happened — no scoring, no usage. If the Tour shortens it but declares it official (typically 54 holes), it counts normally — earnings are awarded and golfers who completed Round 1 are used up.
What if two members tie at the end of the season?
Tiebreakers run in order: most wins picked, most top-10s picked, highest single-week earnings, then head-to-head week-by-week. If all four are still equal, the tied members split the bonus pots evenly.
What are GNerds?
GNerds are Golf Nerd Leagues' universal progression currency — they're earned across every format (Pick, Drafts, Public Leagues) and roll up to the True Golf Nerd Trophy leaderboard. They're separate from your private league's cash prize pool, which is set and paid out by your commissioner.
Is there a cost to play?
One & Done has a $10 service fee per member, paid once per league per season. The promo code 2026 makes it free through August 1, 2026. Member-to-member entry-fee pools (if your league runs one) are between you and your commissioner; Golf Nerd Leagues doesn't collect or hold pool money.
What if a member doesn't pay?
Members can't see the league or make picks until they've completed payment (or redeemed a promo code that drops the fee to $0). If a paid member later refunds their service fee, they have 48 hours to re-pay; otherwise they're automatically removed from the league. Removed members can rejoin via the invite link if the next pick deadline hasn't passed. Full details in our Terms of Service.
